I would like to buy a new winchester for storage. I saw this HDD: Hitachi 5K3000 2 TB
I'd like to know how reliable is this drive? This is my only question, before I buy it.
Hitachis are okay HDDs. Not the best, not the worst. Average. I have a few and have had no problems with any of them.
BTW, I haven't seen the term "winchester" used to describe a HDD is a VERY long time.

I know there aren't any HDD, which used to very long time, but I wonder the rate of death/live. How shall I say. If a mark has lots of wrong HDD, It won't be reliable mark.
No, the lifespan and reliability of the drives are actually pretty good. You should be fine with the drive you are considering. Personally, I recommend Samsung drives. Up to you. Good luck!
