Hey guys,

I am curious how you feel the 4870-90 compares to the 4770 for a budget priced system with a 780 watt power supply. I am practically a newb when it comes to the latest technology so a nice compare contrast of these cards would really be a bonus for me. BTW I am sticking with the ATI based cards so please don't try to convert me to one of the other guys... I don't like the door beaters either :o)
Thanks guys for your considered responses...

k, you want a 4890 if you want to play crysis on vhigh with 1080.. its the king
you want 4870 if you want the solid performance across the board but your ok with some lower fps at 1080 when everything maxing out
4770 (or even better a 4850) its like the best friend of an average gamer... true budget workhorse... it will run anything but some thing may need a tuning down... runs everything on 1440*900 maxed

Mainboard : BIOSTAR Group TA780G M2+
Processor : AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ @ 2400 MHz (Currently running 2640)
Physical Memory : 3.0 GB
Video Card : ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics (Int)

This is tucked in a Lian Li desk top case with a 780watt modular power supply that barely fits. Space will be an issue for this video card.

When you have some extra money, you might want to upgrade that processor.
