Psu orientation

I read that the fan on the inside of the PSU should be pointed towards the CPU. Is this correct?

Interesting instructions, they are correct. The fan is on the top of the PSU correct? Basically they just want you to not position it if you have a top mount PSU so that the fan is pointed up and trying to pull air through a half inch air gap. By having you position it towards the CPU that means that it will always have space over it allowing its fan to draw in more air with less work.

Its a decent rule of thumb , but there are exceptions .

Some cases with bottom mounted psu's allow you to have the intake fan facing down
