Ok it’s been a long time since I build a system and I have kind of messed up my new build.
System Specs.
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black,
Asus Crosshair III Formula, AMD 790
1GB XFX HD 5870 XT, PCI-E 2.0(x16),
CM Storm Scout Mid Tower Black Case
1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3, S
6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator DDR3,
LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±R, 16xDVD±DL, D
650W Corsair CMPSU-650TX, single 12
I now know that the RAM I got should go in an Intel system. Should I just use two sticks of RAM or stick with three? Also, I just got the Zalman CNPS20 X cpu cooler. I Wouldn’t have a problem if it was going on a Intel cpu but because it has to go on sideways when used with my amd process, I can’t use the first RAM slot. Will this make much of a difference? Help!

your better off using only two ram sticks in place of three

the Phenom can't run tri channel memory so you might as well just use the the RAM in dual channel

and yes you should maybe get a different cooler if one slot is covered, then you won't be able to do dual channel properly the first RAM slot is designed to run first in prefernece with the third slot for dual channel

Thanks for the reply =) I have read a few different things on the internet. Like RAM in slots 3/4 wont make to much differance to slots 1/2.
