Hello guys!

As my title for the post says all, i want to know how they both compare, because i am currently using E2180 2ghz @ 3ghz (OCed) and i have seen many reviews about new E6300, saying that E6300 performs same as E7200/7300 and slightly 5 to 10% behind E7500 and when OCed it can reach level of E8400 or E8600, is it true? Will upgrading from E2180 to E6300 worth for me??? Plz answers boys as soon as possible,

Thank you

I don't think an upgrade would be worth the money...

Dual core to dual core will not be a big improvement.Duals will be obsolete for gaming in sometime.
I suggest you to save money and buy a whole new rig .

^Agreed. Save the money for an i5, i7, or what ever.

lol, i expected that stupid sort of replies. Guys what i am asking and what you guys are replying? Only Bad Trip gave proper reply. BTW if E6300 pentium dual core is competing against E7300/E7400 which are Core 2 Duo actually so why not moving from E2180 to E6300 worth. Sorry i should not have posted, these stupid answers were expected. My budget doesnt allows me to purchase Quad core/ i5 or i7

An upgrade to a E2180 is pointless given the current prices, which should drop down the road. By then, you should have enough money for a new i5/i7/i3 or what ever the next platform(Clarkdale) is which would offer better performance (mainly the i3/i5s, should be with in budget if you save up). Either that or save up for an E8400 at least.

The e6300 would be a worth while upgrade for you if your budget is limited. The difference will be noticeable.

If you buy that processor you'll experience performance boost no doubt.
But is that boost worth money?
In no time you will be bored with its performance for which you wasted your money...

I would say buy it....
Then only You'll understand what I'm tryin to say.

Sorry i should not have posted "n00b"

I have a e2160 that was at 3.0ghz that slightly outperformed my brother's E8400 in 3dmark06. I did manage however to push my E2160 to 3.4ghz on air at 1.475V. So try to push your clock speeds a bit more

BadTrip showed you stock 2Ghz E2180 and stock E6300 2.8Ghz.
You got good advice but weren't smart enough to realize it.
