hi guys, i was just wondering if i buy ddr3 1600 memory, will be able to work with my MSI x58 pro motherboard. anything over 1333 for this board would be over clocking. so if i buy the 1600 memory, will be able to slow down by it self to 1333? or would it not work.

it would automatically downclock but it isn't worth getting faster memory if it ahs to be down clocked

Hello and welcome to the forums :)
I agree with Upendra
The difference between 1600 and 1333 isn't much so go for a 1333 one and you don't need to down-clock it.
Also most 1333 RAMs have lower timings which is better for OC'ng
