Hard drive

I powered up my system with only the mb, cpu, memory, and hard drive installed. When the power comes on, the cpu fan starts, and the LEDs on the front light up. The LED for the hard drive doesnt light up, and only flash red once. Does this mean my hard drive isn't working?

read the thread at the top of this mb about trouble shooting .

and then make sure you have a mb/case speaker attached and can hear the POST beep
