When I play some games like NBA 2k9 which I play a lot, Combat Arms and GTA IV(which freezes after 20minutes on high,I installed latest patch) I experience slow gameplay for about a minute and than it works like a charm(on max settings). I have latest DirectX and all drivers installed. In all other games I have no problems. Crysis and Crysis Warhead on high and 8x aa on 1680x1050 works flawlessly. Read my rig in profile info. My friend have also ati radeon graphic card with 9.7 catalyst driver same as me and he tells me that 9.7 driver have bugs and they need some time to switch from saving mode(core at 240mhz in ati overdrive) to performance mode(then i have full 870mhz) in CCC.He tells me also that they should fix this in new version of catalyst. I personally think that Omega drivers are best , but they do not have support for new graphic cards.

Might have something to do with the motherboards power saving features, perhaps it's just not powering up properly when these games are run?
