Asus nForce 750i SLI

Is this a good computer for $830?
I dont know much about computer specs, but will this run the latest games? Dawn of War 2, MW2, Assassins Creed 2 etc? What is the difference between Pentium 4 and Core 2 duo?

Also, if you guys know any cheap(around this price) gaming computers that are better than this, please let me know.

Thanks so much.

1. for the price you could get a better computer
2. it will run those games but at med/high settings and somewhat low res, but neither in very high or max.
3.
pentium 4 = old,single core
core2duo=newer, 2 cores
core2duo= twice the processing capacities=alot more penformance

sweet man thanks. is the 9600GT not very good? how about the processor?

No the 9600GT is not too hot. Look at the GPU charts here at Toms. They are really helpful.

That proc is fine for want you want, but it is overpriced and outdated right now. The sort of motherboard that would support this proc will not support the newer i5 and i7 procs when you want to upgrade.

I would not get that comp, but look here and get back to us.
