ASUS P7P55D evo failure

here's the specs for my new pc:
Intel Core i5 750 2.66 Ghz Quad Core
ASUS P7P55D evo mobo
4x 2GB Corsair RAM
ASUS ATI HD 5850 GPU
Corsair 650W PSU
Samsung 1TB HDD
I built it all this morning and it seemed fine, but when i run it, no matter how many RAM cards i have put in it, it just shuts off after a minute or two. I havent been able to get as far as installing Win7 yet. Has anyone else had this problem? i think its to do with the mobo, but it could be the RAM. Any advice would be useful, thanks. Usually, it dies before the BIOS even opens properly
