Hard drive data recovery

Hello
My hard drive is no longer recognized on the BIOS ( it has been working for few years until this happened). There is no clicking sound and the harddrive runs. I tried using an external device to see if it is recongnizable as a drive in windows but it does not recognize. How can I recover data from this disk is it possible?

Have you tried plugging it into a different computer?

This is a solid case for frequent backups.
