New member but very curious about OCing my rig.

What i have is:
Cpu - AMD Phenom II x945
Stock fan for CPU
Ram - g.skill ddr3
Mobo - GA-MA770T-ud3p
PWR - 700wt
Gpu - GTX 460
OS - Win 7 pro x64

I've managed to OC through FSB up to 3345MHz stable. My benchmarks being both Prime95 (64bit ver) which ran 68c max during full load and rendering with Mental ray (3D program which i use and must be stable for this). Did all of this without touching ram and voltage.

So i was wondering what would it take to reach the 3.8GHz area or maybe higher? Obviously a real CPU fan would be desired.

Solution
The Phenom II OC'ing guide at the link below should help. I would suggest that you install a better HSF as 68C is too high for long term system stability with an AMD Phenom II CPU. 55C seems to be a thermal threshold for many Phenom II CPUs.

You can find REAL HSFs at the link below with actual cooling test data. Any of the Top Ten HSFs will be great but IMO the Xigmatek Aegir SD128264 is the best performance/price and new tech.
