Hello everyone. Apologizes for begging for help on my first post. Anyway, I'm going to make some upgrades to my computer. I currently have an Asus Crosshair II Formula mother board http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/asus_crosshair_ii_formula/7.htm and I'm going to update the bios so I can replace my old AMD Athlon x2 4800+ processor with AMD Phenom II X4 965 http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=617&f1=AMD+Phenom%E2%84%A2+II+X4&f2=965&f3=3400&f4=512&f5=AM3&f6=&f7=&f8=&f9=4000&f10=False&f11=True&f12=True. I have a Nvidia GTX 295 video card http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gtx_295_us.html. I will also be upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium and using a Intel X25M 80GB Mainstream Solid State Drive.

The one thing I cant decide on is my ram. I'm have to stick with DDR2 ram bc of my motherboard and the fastest speed that it and my new processor both support is 1066 mhz. In addition, I do plan on over clocking my processor so I'm not sure if that's a big factor. I'm looking for ideas of what my best option would be. I just want to make sure that it is compatible with my hardware, is the fastest ram I can get, has a heat dispenser, and comes in 2GB sticks. I'm also wondering if Windows 7 will recognize video memory and Ram seperatly. In other words since 7 home premium will recognize up to 8GB's of ram does the 1792 MB my video card have count towards that 8? Thank you in advance for any advice on my ram upgrade.

Edit: I should also add that my mother board recommendations list the ram voltage at 1.8 and the highest I can go without damaging the ram slots is 1.98.

If you have to buy ram, I wouldn't get ddr2. Sell what you have and go with a low end ddr3 am3 board. It's money well spent. Frys has some corsair 1333 2x2gb of ddr3 for $69.99 after $40 rebate. Newegg has an msi am3 board for around $54, and Fry's has the 620 propus quad core with biostar am3 board for $79.99 after rebate, if your store has any left. I've sold alot of stuff using craigslist, and it's free to post.
