Putting this together for my friend for a bare budget gamer system. Comments and suggestions would be appreciated. He only really plays CS:S and COD4 on a 32" LCD. Resolution is like 1280X something insane. Already has a 850W PSU here which is overkill and a CM690 case. This is what i plan on ordering for the build. 2 X Western Digital Caviar SE WD800AAJS 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM - $67.98 ($33.99 each) JetWay JHA06-GT-LF AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail - $79.99 2 X SAPPHIRE 100253DDR3L Radeon HD 4650 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Retail - $101.98 - ($50.99 each) G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPQ - Retail - $47.99 AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor Model ADX250OCGQBOX - Retail - $79.00
Going with cheap low powered graphics card might not be worth it... And change the CPU to any of these... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] %20II%20X2 Mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813157139 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131381 Graphics card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102770 And 2 WD 80GB...For that price I would suggest a single WD Black 640GB as the RAID has higher failure rates and would just give him 160GB of space...
^+1 to everything he just said...couldn't agree more
