I am running a GTX 260 gpu with AMD 4600 x2 cpu, 3 gb 6400 ddr2 ram, 22 inch monitor, when i run the game at 1600x1000 the frame rate is fine until i hit a door way then drops considerably as i enter a new area, is this do more to the memory im using or to the cpu.
Bioshock does this; even my rig will cause a freeze for a second or two when entering some areas. As long as performance returns after a few seconds, its not that huge a deal...

its an issue with the current nvidia drivers, it has nothing to do with your hardware. The fix is to roll back your drivers to 178.24, I had the exact same issue as have many other Nvidia owners.
