Am I missing something? I recently purchased an XFX Radeon HD 4850 512mb Graphics card, but the XFX Radeon HD 4850 1Gb GDDR3 Card is cheaper, WTF? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814150337 Should I return the product, not to mention I saw a Visiontek Radeon HD 4850 512mb for $99 on ebay.
they must have so many 1 gig cards in stock, they are dumping them out now
I guess that's a reason. I spent 134$ on the card. Will newegg let me exchange it for another better card the Visiontek 4870 is only $4 more!
I suppose as long as you send back the "old" 512MB card and pay for shipping for the 1GB card. That adds up to more than just $4.
Also, unless you are gaming at 1920x1080 of higher, going from a gpu with 512MB to 1GB RAM will no offer any noticeable performance increases. For gaming at 1680x1050 having 512MB RAM on the gpu is fine.
