i have a mobile amd turon x2 64 tl56 supposed to run at 1.8 ghz but for some reason it is stuck at 800mhz all power settings are set to high performance 100% and it is not cool and quiet mode under full load it still stays at 800 mhz it is really annoying and i wish to fix it but i havent found nadda for it and the laptop company toshiba gave me the run around basically they are clueless so hopefully someone here knows any suggestions would be great im assuming it is a driver issue BTW im running windows 7 RTM
yes with xp core speeds ran at full speed vista did not. Problem with xp toshiba didnt make any drivers for it it came with vista on it from factory. Funny that it came from factory running at less the half the speed it was supposed to
go to control panel>appearance and personalization>change screen saver>change power settings> change plan settings> change advanced settings>processor power management check what the percentages are at (if no 100%, change to 100% and your problem should be fixed; if at 100%, like other people have said it could be a driver problem or an overheating chip)
i almost certain it is a driver issue but i cant find a new one that fixes it its a toshiba satilite notebook. it definatly is not overheating and all settings are 100%
