forget pcegypt.com not reliable at all !! and sucks anyway so dont bother :non:

 

anyway i have spent the last month looking for parts to build a new computer... i do live in Egypt (i am Egyptian :sol: ) but have been too lazy to go to any shops, but i did look online and i found these sites which i think u will find pretty helpful

 

http://www.egprices.com - good website that is updated every month or so which will give u a good idea of the prices to expect, and where to find each product plus emails and tel numbers to the different stores

 

ull find gtx series and even 5850 and 5870

 

http://www.e3050.com - online shopping website which has good products but some of the hardware is priced too high

 

i used these as reference only so i am not sure how reliable the info is

 

i am trying to build an i7 based system so keep me updated with your situation maybe we can help each other find good deals :wahoo:

Back to the main point. As far as I know, Egypt does not have many stores that sell advanced computer parts. A 8800GT is still considered a HOT item there.

Move the map to your location in Egypt, and type "computer" into the search field. It will show you all the stores in your area. You'll have to read about them to find out which ones actually sell computer parts.

oder online , thts my answer. In egypt when i was there i was searchng 4 nvidia geforce gtx series [295 , 285 etc]i found nothing but the gigabyte geforce 8400gs and 9400 gt it was like the best graphic there , i was like "WTF" u 4 real. I had no option because evn Saudi Arabia does not evn sell great graphic cards so i bought the 8400 gs . I am plannin' to change it when i garguate from high school [Alevel] . May God be with me.

I suggest you order something on-line as I couldn't find a computer shop in Cairo ... which is just weird and can't be right!!

You can get anything from the UAE though ... some visitors recently showed me their new gold plated laptops.

Can a local help the op here?

I'm curious that a large country like Egypt does not have many stores that sell advanced computer parts...
In Indonesia, items like 9800GTX or HD 4890 are easily to find...

"wa1" even if there is stores in egypt which sell computer stuff , these stores sells the item pretty expensive , so they r not refered as "good store" .

Heyy... i don`t think u guys know anything about egypt
in every single region n every place u`ll find a computer stuff malls.
in cairo there are hundreds of them
look .. this is an online mall from egypt ... u`ll see the price and the phone numbers of the company that u`ll buy the item from WWW.PCegypt.com

it even has all the stores and phone numbers although their names are in arabic

http://www.maximumhardware.net/contacts.php - this store it very good ...they have some top components including i7 and i5 parts :) check their home screen for updates of parts being sold
