There is an integrated sound card in the motherboard, a dedicated one is not needed. Yes that system supports DirectX 10 as long as the operating system is Vista or 7.

thank you so much. may i just say, i have only been a member of the community for 2 days, and seeing as how i have posted like a gajillion threads and have been a pain in the a$$. This community IS AMAZING!!! EVERYONE IS SO NICE AND HELPFUL.
