So I'm building a computer this coming week, mainly just to be able to start playing games again since my Pentium 4 2.5Ghz isn't really cutting it.
This is what buying and I'd like your opinion on what graphics card would go with it.
ASUS Socket 775 G31 (if I remember correctly)
Intel Core2 Duo 2.93 Ghz
4GB DDR2
and I'm thinking about Asus GeForce 9600GT for my graphics card. HDD's and everything else I already have.
What do you guys think about this setup? Will it be powerful enough for playing games like NBA 2k10, Fallout 3 and some other newer games? All opinions are very welcome!
What's your budget? The 9600 is a bit low-spec for many modern titles. Also, Socket 775 will be end-of-life soon, although they'll probably stick around for a few years yet. Not much upgrade potential tough.
My budget is around $400, but I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible, but at the same time I want a powerful enough machine so that I can take advantage of graphics.
The graphics card is my main concern I guess, since the E7500 is overclockable (at least according to what I've read) so I think at least the CPU will be adequate.
