Can this PSU run a ati 4870, one IDE 80gb hard drive and a athlon II X2 245?? thanks!

Specs wise, it can but it lacks an extra 6-pin PCI-e connector. 4870 will use 2 and that only has 1. Get a molex to PCI-e adapter.

The video card should have come with at least one one adapter.

would i be running the risk of getting that card with my psu or should i go with hd 4850 1gb. performance wise does gddr5 pose better performance than gddr3. For what i know the hd 4870 512mb is only 10 bucks more than the 4850 1gb but im unsure about whether 4870 would take too much power when under load and destroy my whole computer.If anything im not planning to use this PSU for more than 6 months.
