So my UPS just fried, after years of heavy grudgingly huge service. The thing is a brick, and its served its usefulness. I figure that while I am getting a new one, I might also look into getting a lighter one. I don't need one that lasts for very long. Just the five minutes or so minutes it takes to shut down. Is there a nice light-weight option I should be looking into? I mean do I even really need to get a UPS at all? Hmmm, maybe I will just stick with a powerstrip. Thoughts?

Most people get along OK without an uninterrupted power supply. But they're not so much more expensive than a GOOD surge protector. $20 vs $50

APC BE450 & BE550 That 450 might not make it through a heavy gaming session but will hold up long enough for autoshut down for any other PC tasks.

Oh, well PC specs are 3.2 Pentium dual core, 4 gig ram, and the graphics card is a a 98000 gtx+. Price range is 20-90. Remember I am not talking about the power supply but rather the UPS.

Thanks!
