Hi,

I am currently looking into building a second pc for the home that will be left on all day for my myself and my wife to use. I will be keeping my Intel Core 2 Duo pc for any system intensive games.

Main uses will be Web browsing (facebook, Youtube and Big fish games) and Tversity (No transcoding to stream to the Xbox 360). I am not sure what OS I will be putting on it yet, but the overall aim is to have enough performance at minimal power consumption.

I have been looking at ASUS AT3N7A-I which is a Atom 330 ion Board which I have seen benchmarks showing it idle at 37 watts and 43 on load, but I am concerned that it’s going to lack in performance.

Has anyone got any recommendations for other low powered CPU or advice please.

Scott

I use a celeron 430, which uses a few more watts overall. It's faster than the atom. Frys combo was only $40 after rebate.
