here are my specs

q8200

9600gt

500w xfx power supply

2gb ddr3

asus motherboard

i will want to play farcry2 and mw2 and mw1

Well depending on your budget, that will play most those games fine at pretty decent settings.

Those games will run fine on your Rig.
Not highest but certainly high settings..

You can add 2GB Ram(If you want to...).

Depends on the resolution you are playing at. The 9600GT will struggle beyond 1600x1050 especially with AA on. MW1 will run nicely however farcry is more intensive and may require you to turn the graphics down a notch. MW2 is speculation, but i'd say medium settings with no AA would be doable.

I am running an i7-920, 6GB OCZ obsidian 1600Mhz RAM, and 1 512MB XFX ATI 4870. My mobo is an ASRock X58 Extreme and can support multiple GPU's. Do I have a shot at playing Crysis at decent settings with my current setup, or should I add another 4870?

The 512mb of the 4870 will limit AA to an extent. Crysis benefits from 1gb cards, as long as they are powerful (4870 power is fine). Obviously a 1Gb 4550 wouldn't cut it.

The i7 920 and RAM is fine, and you have the possibility of overclocking in the future should you wish.

well guys i play all my games at 1280 by 720 from my hd tv so ill probobly be able to play with decent settings
