hmm For gaming who wins? corei7 or Athlon phenom x3?

Why would you compare an i7 to an x3? The prices are VERY different.

Intel i7 is generally going to win most benchmarks when compared to an x3, but you can save a lot of dough and still have a great gaming experience with AMD. If you use the same video card and a fast X3 the difference in most games isn't going to much if your settings are GPU limited, but you'll save a load of cash with the X3.

Remember, the most important part is the graphics card. I would go with a fast X3 or X4 or the i5 750.

All will be good choices.
