ok everything seemed to be working fine, burned a cd, turn off the computer. about an hour later my daugther turn it back on to get a black screen that reads something like this, REBOOT WITH MEDIA BOOT DISC HIT ANY KEY OR TAB. is that a bad harddrive or is this a problem with my motherboard? it does how ever load the motherboard screen but it seems to hang there forever then it turn back to the black screen? any info would be good ty

Did you pull the disc out of the drive? Go into bios and check your boot order, it sounds like your optical drive may be before your hard drive and its trying to boot off of a non bootable disc. Just switch the hard disk to the first slot and you wont have the issue again.
Yes i took the disc out, and restarted the computer again, boot screen(which is the motherboard logo) then it hangs then the black screen again. But i will check to see if the optical drive is booting first.
