Hello there, im looking upgrade a my 7900gs to a new card second hand, however the 4850 has recently been re-listed as being faulty due to...

As he listed//

This has been re-tested after being removed from my sons crossfire set up and does not boot up,so selling as faulty.

It trys to start but keeps re-setting///

MY first thought is that a graphics card problem would not cause resets without post beeping (i am assuming that its still delivering a picture). Could be another system instability causing the problem, mebs forgot to plug in powerlead again or crossfire setup change glitch......

Do i need to buy this now??????? Please answer quickly and ill let you know what happens

You would need to do the following checks:
Check that the fan is spinning on the 4850.
Check that the six-pins power connectors are connected.
Load a Linux LiveCD. If it loads fine, it's a Windows problem.

At times continous rebooting has to do with spyware on the machine.
