Question : Im wondering what is safe and a good for a 24/7 OC based on this information.
Components : Phenom II x4 965 BE w/ Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7
Current OC : 3.7 GHz , 18.5 multiplier, 1.425 (stock voltage), temps between 40-46C, low-mid 50s for "load"
Now herein lies my speculation on how far to push my system, without burning everything up with "nice" temps for a 24/7 overclock. I just ran AMD Overdrive "Auto Clock" and enabled the "voltage boost" option, which bumped my voltages up to 1.525.
AMD Overdrive results: The result of last successful tune is:
Last CPU clock is: 4321.5 MHz
Last HT Link ref. clock is: 201 MHz
Last CPU multiplier is: 21.5 X MAX TEMP OF 66C when i hit the wall for my OC results, then comp crashed
After about an hour and a half or so of running Auto Clock on overdrive, My computer crashed. I do not know if this was caused from temperatures or what, I dont know!
Given these results and inspecting my situation, and what my CPU appears to be capable of, what would be a SAFE frequency to set my CPU to? And if anyone knows what is the so called "max temperature" a phenom ii 965 , i would love to know ( i keep finding different results on the forums and online.
hmm seem Artic freezer pro noot good , 3.7 Ghz high temp was 62C ... need fix your cooler + air flow, suggest replace New thermal paste, sure secure your CPU with HSF and add Fan case also disabled smart Fan CPU in Bios
many cooler is good ansd suitable for AMD :
Noctua NHD/C - 14, spire thermax eclise 2 , silver arrow , Corsair H 80 - H100, Scythe Mugen 2 rev B, Scythe yasha it's all depend your Case and budget !
