Reasion for overclocking - gaming

Question : Im wondering what is safe and a good for a 24/7 OC based on this information.

Components : Phenom II x4 965 BE w/ Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7

Current OC : 3.7 GHz , 18.5 multiplier, 1.425 (stock voltage), temps between 40-46C, low-mid 50s for "load"

Now herein lies my speculation on how far to push my system, without burning everything up with "nice" temps for a 24/7 overclock. I just ran AMD Overdrive "Auto Clock" and enabled the "voltage boost" option, which bumped my voltages up to 1.525.

AMD Overdrive results:
The result of last successful tune is:

Last CPU clock is: 4321.5 MHz
Last HT Link ref. clock is: 201 MHz
Last CPU multiplier is: 21.5 X
MAX TEMP OF 66C when i hit the wall for my OC results, then comp crashed

After about an hour and a half or so of running Auto Clock on overdrive, My computer crashed. I do not know if this was caused from temperatures or what, I dont know!

Given these results and inspecting my situation, and what my CPU appears to be capable of, what would be a SAFE frequency to set my CPU to? And if anyone knows what is the so called "max temperature" a phenom ii 965 , i would love to know ( i keep finding different results on the forums and online.

MAX TEMP OF 66C under full load for 1.5 hours .. it's dangerous for longterm CPU, max must at 60C with fulload when do stress test use Prime95 . i suggest Drop your OC , 66C make me scare.

it was mostly high 50's when overdrive was tuning, it only jumped above 60C for about 15 min and 65C for a few min when my CPU hit 4321.5 MHz....then comp crashed and I was a sad panda

I suggest test stabillity use Prime95 for 4hours minimum, download here :http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Home-Education/Prim...

for shor time use intelburn test : http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Benchmarks/IntelBur...
( set at 20time and RAm at maximum ) wait finish

from your setting Current OC : 3.7 GHz ... how high your temp ? remember max temp must below 60C
if result temperature fulload show bellow 50C - 60C it's mean stable and safe for hardware

I just ran intel burn test for time = 20, max RAM, and the high temp was 62C, what u recommend, that my 3.7GHz OC is the best I should do until i get a better cooler , pref water cooled?

I'd get some better cooling to go to 4.3, you can try lapping your heat spreader and coldplate to see how much that would bring temps down if you can't get a new HSF right now.

hmm seem Artic freezer pro noot good , 3.7 Ghz high temp was 62C ... need fix your cooler + air flow, suggest replace New thermal paste, sure secure your CPU with HSF and add Fan case also disabled smart Fan CPU in Bios

many cooler is good ansd suitable for AMD :
Noctua NHD/C - 14, spire thermax eclise 2 , silver arrow , Corsair H 80 - H100, Scythe Mugen 2 rev B, Scythe yasha it's all depend your Case and budget !
