More about 1200 1700 build lots questions time
  1. I would do a 4870 or GTX 260 until you can get a monitor with a bigger resolution. 1280x1024 isn't worth dropping to much on a card. As for a modular psu it really depends on how clean you want your cable management to turn out. For an Asus motherboard I would go for the P6T Deluxe since you can get it in a combo on newegg. Mobo It's one of the best for overclocking.
  2. ^+1
Here is a very good combo deal, that you can check out...
It has all the high quality components...

And as for the case, Lian-Li's are high quality ones...So no problem with that...
But that case is cheaper in newegg...I think its the same case right?

But here is another very good case, that you can check out...

As for the SSD, wait for few days...intel has just launched new SSDs, that offer very good value and has very good performance...but currently the sales has been halted for a small BIOS fix...So the sales should resume within few days...They are the 34NM ones and are silver-colored...

As for CPU Cooler, here are a few options...
    Scythe Mugen 2
    Sunbeam CCTF 120MM + 1366 retention kit
    Xig Dark Knight
These have very good performance for the money...
  3. +1 for gkay09 on the Combo and Intel SSD info.

Now if you have some extra money you might wish to check out this Lian Li case.

LIAN LI PC-V1000BPlus II Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail $189.99

One other item besides CPU Cooler and Thermal Compound that you will need for any Case with Bottom mounted PSU.

    1ST PC CORP. 12" 8-pin EPS extension cable Model CB-8M-8F - Retail $7.99
  4. wow thx for all the info guys ,
im going to be getting that combo deal with with asus P6T Deluxe v2 , and the ddr3 1600 dominator ram ,

Is there a big dif in performance from gtx 260 to 275

check these evga cards out , they have a 1 gig and 2 gig versions , which is the better one to get .

GPU : Evga GeForce GTX 275

or if you guys convince me ill stay with the gtx 260 card

Also remember im going to have 1 video card at the start so everything should be based on non sli
  5. I am going EVGA GTX 275 SLI'd for my setup.
  6. if the combo helps bring the price down on the dominator ram get them, other wise get some better ram for cheaper. OCZ Platinum 1600 ram is faster and is cheaper on newegg as well.
  7. I am not clear as to whether you have purchased the processor yet or not, but it is back on sale right now at Microcenter for $200. Note that it is for in-store pickup only.
