I have recently purchased the HP Pavilion and have added
the Netgear MA101 wireless USB adpater. The machine
notices the new hardware. When I to go the install
wizard, it tells me to use the Windows XP Configuration.
#1 How do it get to it. Also, in trying another way to
add the software, I go to the Device Mgr. I see the
Yellow Icon depicting an issue. It instructs me to go to
Start, Control Panel and dbl click the Wireless Network
Connection tab. I don't see this tab. Could someone
please assist.

One possible cause for this could be that the "Wireless Zero
Configuration" Service is disabled/stopped. Check this in the Control
Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.

Thank your for your speedy reply. I followed your
instructions, went to CP, Admin and Services and Wireless
is Started. Is there a way I can add my adapters. This
machine is showing 1394 Connection and a Realtek PtL 8139
Nic. I just want to add my adapters, and when I try I get
a reading to use the Microsoft XP Configuration Manager.
I use it, and it is not loading my adapters :-(.

I have tried everyone.. called all the manufacturers and
EVERYONE wants money. The machine is brand new, but they
want to charge me for service calls. They tell me it is a
Microsoft problem ($35) it is a Netgear problem ($19.00)
and HP tells me they don't support wireless. I have even
reformatted...

Hello,

It´s a silly question but did you insert the cd provided with the adapter
and install it before connecting the usb adapter ?

Start over. Remove the WLAN card and check the manual again for
detailled installation instructions. With some cards you need to
install the driver software at first.
