I put this combination together with my son and I just need some advice. Keeping the cost down, how does this unit look? Any recommended changes to the components? I'm a power business user, lots of multitasking, this is for home office. Trying to keep this around $500

Rather than that ASUS I would go with

ASRock A780LM 54.99

As for the 9950 it runs rather hot and doesn't overclock too well despite it's unlocked multiplier. I would spend $10 bucks less on the 720 BE

AMD Phenom II X3 720 $119.99

As it's newer architecture and higher clock speed would generally serve you better than the extra core. If you overclock this CPU it's even better. If you really feel the need for a quad core then spend $10 more than the 9950 and get
