I am currently building a computer for running AutoCAD architecture as well as Revit architecture. My question is will dual xeon possessors (e5520 2.26ghz) give me an advantage Or would my better choice be a single i7 (920 @ 2.66ghz oc to 4ghz) does auto desk stress ghz or more cores?

a single i7 will do u fine, they work better with cores and arch but u won't need dual xeons,

if u mean two Xeon sockets with procs

and go with a 5870 for gfx if u want
