I just wanted to run an i7 build I am thinking about past all of you.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE:2-3 weeks

BUDGET RANGE: 900-1000

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Most importantly, very heavy multitasking, I am like a squirrel, I have 2 screens and am using both constantly(movie on one, web on another. Game in one, movie on anther and the like). Heavy gaming, image processing(via face detection and edge detection), web and other misc tasks like movie watching.

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, monitor, mouse, basically all peripherals and a graphics card. Just need to guts of the system if you will.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com. Local microcenter.

PARTS PREFERENCES: does not really matter, as long as its good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg im there(ironic since I am buying an i7).

OVERCLOCKING: No current plans, maybe in the future.
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: again, no currently plans.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 2 at 1980x1020(a 23'' and a 21'')

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I want this to last me a little while(4-5 years) and be able to play the latest games(dont need to max out settings for the next 5 years but have passable[and if i can be greedy, good] frame rates in 4 years time).

Planned parts:
Cooler Master case

XIGMATEK Dark Knight-S1283V 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler - Retail

GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX

ATI HD 4890 Graphics Card(already have this)

Western Digitial Hard Drive 1TB

CD/DVD drive(sony 22x)
(going to buy at local microcenter)

I7 Processor 920
(going to buy at local microcenter)

OCZ DDR3 RAM 3x 2GB

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W

Now I also have the option of going AMD with basically the exact set up but different motherboard and CPU.
specifically this mobo and CPU:

mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128378

cpu: AMD x4 PII 955
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674

I discounted the AMD set up because I felt that the i7 will last me longer as a single unit and the AMD PII x4 995 will(and I chauk this up as an advantage, can) be replaced in 2-3 years time with the newer CPU, tho my purpose at this juncture is to avoid having to upgrade for a while(save for the graphics card). But right now that is my draw to the AM3 socket, AMD loves backward compatibility and thus I will only need to keep upgrading my CPU and GPU if I go AMD. Though with the i7 I suspect I WONT need to upgrade the CPU for a long while, I am unsure how long that 'long' is.

Again I apologize for not putting links, this all comes to 992 dollars without shipping or taxes so I guess if you include those I am a tad over budget

Come on, you know what I mean :3...

But saying it out of context does make it seem like an odd phrase, however in context, it means as it states. I have a computer build. Here it is. I am running it past you for your consideration. Expect much more concisely.

meh, might be unique to my region to say "I want to run something by you" or "I want to run something past you" and mean ask their opinion on it.

In anycase, opinions would be appreciated. Are there any glaring aspects like mobo(i am concerned about this one) that are just stupid purchases given my needs or just bad products in general?

edit: I can spell honest.
