Solution
You can use any upgrade you want if your case and power supply can handle it. You can also go to asus website and see what ram has been tested with your board.

Hello everyone:)
What I did 2 nights ago: purchased and assemble

Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor $289
MSI P55-GD65 Intel 1156 i5 i7 P55 Motherboard, with the new Intel® P55 Express Chipset, supporting Core i7 $159
Kingston 4GB DDR3 (2 X 2GB) 1600MHz CL8 240-PIN DIMM, DUAL HYPERX $110
Zalman CNPS10X Quiet CPU Cooler $60
COOLMAX 700W ATX CU-700B 120 SILENT FAN, SEMI MODULAR CABLES $ 65
OEM RADEON 4650 ATI RADEON 4650 DDR2 1GB VA4652NHG1 $80
Total cost= $840. I reuse my old case, dvd-rw, 2 HDD and existing Vista Ult OS
Despite my anxiety and nervousness I finished dismantling old box and installing all components
from 6PM to 11:50pm. When I turned the power, it booted the first time without a glitch.
I was very happy. It runs very cool. The system recognized 8 thread. Reloaded distributed computing Boinc and run World community Grid work units.
The boinc manager recognised the system with 8 thread and 8 work units were running at the same time.
I was amazed, relieved of anxiety and very happy with my final choices of components. I do not OC and do not play Games. Usage is Internet browsing, email, photo edit, mp3, MS excel and word etc.
I am just sharing my successful build and may help someone else with components.
