Can you transfer network driver from laptop to a desktop

When i reinstalled windows XP I lost my network driver and therefore cannot install the internet on my desk top.
Can I copy the network driver from my laptop.

Quite unlikely that would work. I have reinstalled OS on many systems and was never unable to establish a new connection. Can you provide specifics as to what you did and what error you receive?
