is it really a big deal? There will be new single card solutions that historically have managed to push the same numbers as the last gen's CF/SLI. I always thought the x2 cards were epeen for the card makers, just trying to claim "fastest single card" rights.

I guess it would be a bummer if you had one, and were wanting to go quad. But at $400-500 per card, you could get 4 4870s and a new mobo to rock quad CF.

Yes it is true. They are no longer being made.. but there are a lot of them still around in stores.

It really shouldn't surprise anyone, as the cards place will be entirely replaced in a month, no need to make more when you have enough in stock to last until the new cards are out to replace it.
