Overclocking i5 2500k Fan needed.

I have found 2 things to limit overclocking:

1- the limits of the cpu (this is luck of the draw)

and
2- cooling

I think that most people would agree that a good air cooler will work for modest OC up to maybe 4.5GHz (depending on chip). But to go higher usually will require better cooling solutions (self contained water cooling units, or custom water cooling loops).

Someone please correct me if I am wrong or if there is something that I left out.


Edit: I have a similar cooler to the one that you listed and I am able to get 4.5GHz on it. To get max cooling though, I did (and you will want to) replace the stock fan with 2 of these in a push/pull set up (there are better fans, but these were at a great price).
