Hi all,

A friend overclocked my cpu for me a while back but now I need to format my hard drive. Is anyone aware if formatting a hard drive can remove any overclocked hardware configurations? If so, can anyone point me in the direction of a beginner's guide to overclocking?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

if you do OC ifrom the Bios, apparently still in a state of the OC and if you do via overclock software like Easytune/AOD etc.. certainly be lost.

But keep in mind if you want to format the HDD and install OS, then the system must be in stock speed or default, return the system to a Default or Clear Cmos, before doing that.
