This, CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W is the psu i thought about getting for this build it is rated 12@70. I was wondering if this is overkill and if it will cause me problems? From what I know (which is not much) it shouldn't its just more than I really need. Thanks

It's overkill for what you have now, but if you're planning to expand into crossfire at a later date with either the 4870s or 4890s or 5870s .....etc. it's a good move to cover your future options. You're spending an extra $20 over the Corsair 750w to give you a bit more headroom.

The Corsair 850 is a great PSU and will work with your system. With what you have, I would recommend the Corsair 750w PSU.

Note on your GPU... Save some money & just get the 1GB 4870. It isn't worth the extra money.

You didn't list your case but if you live near a Microcenter, they have the CM HAF 932 for $120, which I would highly recommend or the Antec 1200

Thanks for the feed. I think that I will stick with for the head room.

We don't have a Microcenter down here, would be nice though. Ended up getting the CM 690 mid for $80 but more room would have been good for the future and Tecmo is the second to suggest the 4870. I probably will go with that because I've really been stretching the budget on this one.
