I turned my computer on and it said Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key.

I have had my computer for a year and I have never had this problem before. I was reading another forum about this problem but since I understood very little and have lost any cd that could be used to fix it, im wondering if there is something I have to buy or just an option that needs to be selected.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the MBR is corrupted. You harddrive might be dying. You have to have a bootable floppy or CD before anything could be fixed.

A bootable floppy? is that something i would buy or something that probably came with my computer

You can make one yourself if you have another computer that's working.

It's helpful to list some specifics about your machine when you ask for help in the forum. What make? What operating system is it running? How many harddrives does it have? etc.
