Does this really give an increased performance ? or is it faulty as 190.38 is??

Your individual mileage may vary it seems, I haven't had any problems with any of the 190.xx drivers but some folks have been having a bit of a nightmare it seems. The only thing to do really is to try them for yourself and see how you get on.

Boy, oh boy, these new drivers reduced my gpu's temps... by one degree.

But still I cannot see some options like scaling on Nvidia control panel and I'm having problems forcing vsync into some games like Necrovision.

Anyway, thanks for the info and link.
