I'm thinking about getting 2 hard drives but I duno what ones are better.

first is the caviar http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

VS

the spinpoint F4 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

also i will probably put them in a raid 0 setup. I have heard that the black's will in raid 0 and 1 even tho they don't have the TLER. and I'm assuming that the f4 has some Samsung equivalent of TLER on the f4.

I might sound cheap, but I don't want to spend the extra money for the re4 drives with less storage.

More about : caviar black spinpoint

I have had a pair of F4's in my home server for almost a year now with no issues.

Both of those drives are a good pick. I ended up getting the Spinpoints because there was a 1tb model on sale when I bought them. But from research both the Spoinpionts and the Black were almost equal at the top of the drive charts.

Any drive will work in RAID, not sure why you are looking for TLER specifically. I don't really like automatic error correction too much, it tends to mask drive issues that can cause a drive to fail suddenly. Like Windows check disk, you get some issues with bad files, check disk fixes them, but people ignore the fact that they are getting errors to begin with till the drive totally fails, instead of replacing the drive from the data corruption warning.
