Desktop icons won't work

Hello,
The icons on my desktop freeze after the first few minutes after restarting my computer. Often I can open pages and move around between the web and my programs, and close all pages except the last one that's against the desktop. Other times all will freeze up until I restart. I don't know if this involves a driver, or do I just need to reset my icons on my desktop?

1 - Look in event viewer for errors.
2- Run System file Checker (sfc /scannow)
3 - Might have to repair-install
4 - May be infected - Run AV scan. (Get Malwarebytes scanner & run also)
