Hi,
I am building my first gaming system, referring many threads from many days.
My planned configuration is
1) AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.0 GHz processor
2) AMD780G - M3A78-EM motherboard (AM2+)
3) 4 gig of DDR2 RAM
4) Nvidia 9800 GT 512 MB graphics card.
5) power supply of 450 W
6) DVD Burner
7) 500 Gig 7200 RPM HDD
I am going to play Microsoft Flight Sim X, FIFA 2009 PC, SIMS 3 and GTA 4 games on this system and will be doing minor video editing and picture editing.
I am fan of Linux distros, thus I will be trying 64x linux distros also on this box.
My question is, whether NVIDIA 9800 GT works perfectly with this setup ?? or any other suggestion in the same price range ??
Other question is, whether 450 W of power supply enough for the system for running smoothly ??
I went through some threads mentioning heat problem for NVIDIA 9800 GT etc.
I was checking in ebay.in (i am based of india) for some 450 W PSUs and found some local PSU and intex PSUs, which other one is better ?? any suggestions ??
I will be using it for gaming mostly, and normal video/photos editing and trying new Linux distros as mentioned.
I actually made up my mind with AMD Phenom after reading many reviews and personally want to try AMD now.
Whts the issue with Nvidia 9800, I am getting it easily in markets here, not searched for GTS 250 yet.
Hmm.....but I am tight with my budget........how about going for Intel E8500?
thts also 3.16 GHz only disadvantage maybe my system is not future proof with C2D.
Comparing Phenom II and E8500, which one you recommend.
