I am trying to install my ATI TV Wonder Elite TV tuner card on my XP Pro virtual machine - with no luck. My host OS is Vista Business which cannot run the bundled Power Cinema so I setup a virtual machine (VirtualBox) and installed XP Pro.

When I run the install CD to install the TV Tunder drivers I receive no errors, but when I open Power Cinema the option for TV is disabled. I also tried getting the XP drivers from ATI's website - same outcome

Please help !

Open device manager on your Virtual XP box and look under display adapters. On my Virtual XP box (Server 2008 w/Hyper-V), it shows as "Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Video Device" as opposed to the Geforce 8800GTS-640 that's installed. My guess (and it is just a guess) is that Power Cinema is not seeing a valid graphic device.

Thnx for the reply. Here is a screen shot of the virtual machine's device manager:

Any idea how to get the virtual machine to recognize the tv tuner card ?

Cheers

Again, under device manager, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers. That's probably where your TV Tuner Card is located (that's where mine is located).

I did find this Virtual PC blog that states there is no Virtual TV Tuner capabilities, so that may be your issue as well.
