Another 500$ Budget Build

I'm building a new PC for my cousin, who right now has a PC that's about a decade old. Whatever the build, it'll be an improvement!

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Sometime this week

BUDGET RANGE: CAN 500$ (inc. shipping and taxes)

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming (he'll want Red Alert 3, and probably lots of racing games as well), surfing the internet, watching movies

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: directcanada.com

PARTS PREFERENCES: None whatsoever

OVERCLOCKING: No SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: nothing too fancy, current monitor is flatscreen CRT, might upgrade later

How's this build?

More about another budget build
  1. Swap the IDE optical drive out for a SATA drive. I would also switch the GPU out for this one as they come to the same price and the XFX has a better cooler and warranty.

  2. Thanks for your help! I'll make the necessary adjustments :)
