Add a second WD 1 TB Black, and stripe the two together in a RAID 0 Array, that will cut down on "load lag" and should improve overall game performance. It will also speed up streaming access if you have a home network and plan to share files. Should only cost you $100 or so more, and give you a noticeable performance return.

Very true, they also run much hotter, adding unnecessary heat to your system.

just looked at the monitor you picked out... are you paying for your own power bills? 100 watts for the monitor alone... I think my 46" flat screen in the living room uses 80 more watts than that, and I don't keep it on all day. Otherwise, go with as large a monitor that is practical for you.

The computer is only on when I am using it, which is mainly for gaming. I have two laptops that I use for internet browsing so I never leave the desktop on unless I am on it.

Yes they do, but if you use another HDD that is 7200 rpm, then your Veloci-Raptor will run at that speed also.. :(
