Hi, I just wish to get some help to clarify the following:-

I have both SATA2 & SATA3 drives for my new Mobo ASUS P8H67-i Deluxe, should I link my SATA2 drive with SATA3 cable & port. or I should use the old SATA2 cable and Port. I understand the 3 would be competable downward with 2, however, would it affect the speed in data transfer.

Will any friend can help me out. Many thanks.

There will be no difference in performance of data transfer when using a SATA2 HDD in a SATA2 or a SATA3 port.

Very few hard drives even saturate SATA2. So all these "SATA3" regular hard drives are a waste of money right now as there are no performance improvements. This of course excludes some of the newer SATA3 SSDs that can saturate SATA2 in raid 0 or otherwise.

Thanks very much for your answer, then, I put all the hard drives through the SATA3 cable & ports, since ASUS comes with the Black/White colour SATA3 cables with the board.
