Yes, the wireless stick only picks up wireless signals sent from a router.

Depends what you mean by "wireless internet stick"

If you are refering to a USB Wifi adapter then yes as its only a receiver.

If on the other hand you a refering to a USB modem that has a SIM card similar to a mbile phone inside then no

well then what the heck i just got a wireless telus modem stick and my xbox/ipod wont pick up my wifi signal... how do i hook up my router to the stick.....???
