I've recently decided that I want to install a flash card reader into my home PC because I am tired of having to use a 10 year old laptop just to transfer pictures from my camera onto my PC. (Keep in mind I lost the camera USB connector a long time ago).

However, the problem I have is I'm not sure what to look for in terms of card readers and why a particular model would be better than another.

What I do need:
- MS-Pro Duo port, standard flash camera memory port.
- One that will not have a constant red LED light on. ( I notice that many of the flash card readers have this "feature").
- One that is black in color to match my case.

I suppose if I have too many particulars, there is an option of purchasing an external one as well that I can just keep in my desk.

I have done a bit of research and was looking at the following one:
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=21448&vpn=NG-35INT-BK-CR&manufacture=nGear Technologies Inc.
But I have read that the red light will be on all the time which I don't want.

Thanks for any help, and if you need any more information let me know.

Does anybody have any guidance/insight on them? After doing a bit more research I think I've decided just to go with a cheap external to keep in my desk.

Are there any downsides to using the external that connect through the USB as opposed to a SATA?
